Latest News1/29/2008:The team held a successful informational clinic with Annetta and George Evans over the weekend. Everyone learned more about polo, riding, and horsemanship during the two days. We look forward to more events with them in the future. 12/17/2007:Team members are heading numerous fundraising projects throughout the holidays to prepare for the upcoming semester. If you would like to help our club out, please see the Donations page or feel free to contact any of the club members. 11/18/2007:After a successful first half of the season, the club will be on a break until classes begin in January. We will also be holding another informational meeting at the beginning of that semester as well. Thank you to everyone who has helped the club so far this year, we really appreciate it. 8/30/2007:The club will be holding its first meeting of the year on Monday, September 17th. It is an informational meeting and will be held in CUE 418 at 7pm. If you are interested in joining, please join us at the meeting and let any others that may be interested know about it. 3/27/2007:The Northwest Regional tournament at Lucky Acres in Lewiston was very successful. The Eastern Oregon women and Oregon State men each won in the finals for the right to go to Nationals in Kentucky. 2/20/2007:The Northwest Regional tournament will be hosted by WSU this year at Lucky Acres in Lewiston, Idaho. Games will be held on Friday through Sunday March 2nd through 4th, with the possibility of events happening on Thursday March 1st. Regional teams that will be at the tournament are Oregon State University, Eastern Oregon University, University of Idaho, Montana State University, and Washington State University. Come out and support the WSU team! 2/4/2007:OSU will be visiting Lucky Acres this weekend on the 10th and 11th. The WSU women will play on Saturday, and the JV on Sunday. Come watch if you can make it! 1/19/2007:George and Anetta Evans will be in Lewiston for a clinic this weekend (20th and 21st). All members are encouraged to attend as the clinic will be very beneficial. Saturday's practice will be in the early evening and Sunday's will be in the morning. Hope to see you there! 11/19/2006:The team's new horses have arrived. There may or may not be riding time or practice time until the normal scheduled practices (January) because of finals. All members will be informed soon. 11/06/2006:Well known polo instructor Wilbur O'Ferrall will be coming to Pullman this weekend (November 10th through 12th) to help the team. All team members are encouraged to be here this weekend to get the full benefits. He will be going over the rules and/or having a foot practice on Friday afternoon/evening; time to be announced. Saturday morning we will have practice as usual at 8am, with time extending into the early afternoon. Sunday will be reserved for mostly varsity time, but everyone is welcome as there will be lots of learning. 10/17/2006:Practice this week will be on Tuesday (17th), Thursday (19th),
Saturday (21st), and Sunday (22nd). Tuesday and Thursday we will be
leaving at 6:30pm, Saturday at 6:30am, and Sunday at 3:30pm. Mondays are
reserved for varsity practices which we will be leaving at 6:30pm. 10/08/2006:We will be having practice Tuesday (10th), Thursday (12th), Saturday (14th), and Sunday (15th) this week. Tuesday and Thursday we will be leaving at 6:30pm, Saturday at 6:30am, and Sunday at 3:30pm. 10/02/2006:The team's final foot practice will be
this Wednesday, October 4th at the softball fields downtown, and is for
all of the people who haven't had a chance to make it to a foot practice yet.
09/27/2006:The team will be having another practice on foot (possibly the last one) this Friday, Sept 21st at 6:00pm. It will be held on the softball fields downtown. Anyone is welcome to come, and it's encouraged that you try to make it if at all possible. If you need directions, you can use the map here to get them. 09/24/2006:The team's first practices with the horses will begin the first week of October. Specific information will be made available shortly. 09/19/2006:The team will be having another practice on foot this Thursday, Sept 21st at 6:30pm. It will be held on the softball fields downtown - weather permitting. Anyone is welcome to come. If you need directions, you can use the map here to get them. 09/10/2006:The WSU Polo team will be having our first practices of the year this Saturday and Sunday. Both will be on foot and will teach the basics of the polo swings. They will be held on the intramural softball fields behind the rec center on Saturday, Sept. 16th and Sunday, Sept. 17th at 3pm. Anyone is welcome to come. 08/26/2006:The WSU Polo team will be having our first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 6th. Anyone who is interested in learning more about the team, or joining us is welcome. Come with any questions you may have as well. It will be held in the CUE room 407 at 5:30pm. 08/07/2006:The Tacoma Polo Club will be having their final tournament of the year, the Piper Classic, on August 26th and 27th. Also being held that weekend is the 2nd annual Gordie Wood Polo Shootout. Tournament fees are $25 for members and $125 for non-members. 07/17/2006:The Tacoma Polo Club will be hosting another tournament on August 5th and 6th, known as the Dixon Memorial tournament. Tournament fees are the normal $25 for members and $125 for non-members. Check their website for more information on upcoming tournaments and other news here. 06/25/2006:The Tacoma Polo Club will be hosting the Burnett Memorial tournament on July 1st and 2nd. Tournament fees are $25 for members and $125 for non-members. Visit the Tacoma Polo Club website here for more information. 05/22/2006:Known as one of the best indoor players in the world, Joe Henderson will be visiting Spokane for the month of June. This is a great opportunity for WSU players to get some great instruction. Any members that would like to take advantage of this, please contact Chelsea. 04/09/2006:The Washington State men return to the Palouse after a week at the national tournament in Ithaca, NY. The competition was immense throughout the tournament, and all teams played very well. The team was knocked out early by Texas Tech, who eventually went on to win the tournament. |
